Isaiah 45:1-3(KJV) Thus saith the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut; I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron: And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the Lord, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.
In the book of Isaiah we read that prophet Isaiah was given the vision about King Cyrus even before he was born. The prophecy about the king which God would give him the treasures of the darkness and the hidden riches of secret places was given to Isaiah many years before. Though King Cyrus never knew about the prophecy that was made about him, it is important to know that being in the part of the scheme of God is powerful. We need to understand that whatever God says is applicable to us today. Every thing that was prophesied about King Cyrus came to pass. Therefore, our identity in the Lord determines our possessions.
Four Ways to Claim the Treasure of Darkness:
1) We were Predestined before the foundation of the world:
Ephesians 1:4 (KJV) According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
The word of God says that we were predestined before the foundation of the world. We are not merely a fusion of any chromosome or an existence by chance but we are a fine blue print of God, who has thought, sculptured and created us. If King Cyrus, a gentile king could do so much in issuing a decree of liberation of the Jews and rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem how much more should we do?
2) We Were Called by Name:
If God called King Cyrus by name, God calls us by our name too. Without Him calling us and forming us we wouldn’t have been here. The scriptures say God determines the number of the stars and calls them by name; if God knows the stars how much more does He know us to be called by name to this generation.
Prophet Isaiah describes the greatness of the might of God, His greatness is not a showpiece but a display of His might. We are His creation and He is our Creator, who has the supernatural ability to display His greatness and name each of His creation by name. He is the Alpha and the Omega, The Great I Am, the same God who called Samuel, Moses, Abraham is calling us today by our name. God says not to fear anything for He has redeemed us, called us by name to claim the treasure of the darkness. Do we hear Him today?
